The functions of Global Laws plan to provide an easy way to find legal information from the Global Legal Information Network Database and it also provide several useful links to constitutions, congresses, law webs, gazettes and literature of various countries. The Global Legal Information Network (GLIN) Database is a database of laws, regulations, judicial decisions, and other complementary legal sources contributed by governmental agencies and international organizations. These GLIN members contribute the official full texts of published documents to the database in their original language. Each document is accompanied by a summary in English (or another summary in original language) and subject terms selected from the multilingual index to GLIN. The ‘Global Laws’ is comprised of ‘Search’, ‘Legislation’, ‘Latest Laws’, ‘Gazettes’, ‘Law Webs, and ‘Literature’ subfunctions.

Search the GLIN databases by means of defining the country, the class of the legislation, the period of issuance date; keying or choosing subject terms from GLIN Thesaurus and keying in summary keywords or keyword strings. Boolean operators ‘AND’ (in uppercase), ‘OR’ or ‘NOT’ can be used among keywords or keyword strings. The result is sorted by issuance date (default) or publication date in descending order.

To browse the country’s legislation sorted by issuance dates in descending order and to provide links to the country’s related websites of government laws, gazettes and literatures. You can specify the period of issuance date or (and) subject terms to restrict the search.

To browse the latest laws of the country sorted by issuance dates in descending order. Users can specify countries, law title or (and) subject terms to re-search the result. The web also extracts some laws promulgated by Japan, German, Spain, United Kingdom and Russia.
